![]() ![]() Everything that occurs in this book starts the moment the two main characters meet and ends when the night ends. This is a one-day-one-night type of book. ![]() Nick and Norah meet because of ex-girlfriend Tris, but they connect because of who they are as a person and who they are together. Back to the cliché, fortunately it only lasts for a second. By the way, Rachel Cohn does a good job of writing Norah’s chapters also. The faking-you-have-a-girlfriend thing is so overdone I would have cried of exasperation if it had been what this book was all about. ![]() Honestly, this wouldn’t have worked if it had been written by somebody else. The way he thinks, the way his characters think. I have yet to read a David Levithan book that doesn’t move me. And then, with one kiss, Nick and Norah are off on an adventure set against the backdrop of New York City and smack in the middle of all the joy, anxiety, confusion, and excitement of a first date. He only needs five minutes to avoid his ex-girlfriend, who’s just walked in to his band’s show. It all starts when Nick asks Norah to be his girlfriend for five minutes.
